Radio Lessons: The School has initiated in a moderate way to broadcast radio lessons to Undergraduate and Post-graduate students on important topics on specified dates. The lessons are developed with senior faculty, retired professors and guest faculty of other universities. Each lesson is of 20 minutes duration. A MoU was signed with the AIR, Warangal and the initiative has been successful.

Blended Learning: To fulfill the UGC guidelines concerning to blended learning, the school with the support of the Multi Media Studio has started the digital learning materials for both the regular and ODL students. The materials include audio and video lessons on selective topics of the curriculum. These are prepared utilising the expertise from the University faculty, retired Professors and experts from other Universities.

Journal in ODL: A bi-annual journal entitled ‘Research in Distance Education’ (RIDE) in the field of Distance Education is published by School of Distance Learning and Continuing Education (SDLCE) in collaboration with Indian Distance Education Association (IDEA) to serves as a focal point for academicians, scholars, professionals, practitioners working in ODL Institutions and to those pursuing research in Open and Distance Education. It is the second such journal being published in our country to promote research in ODL. 

Disabled Cell: A separate Cell for the disabled students has been established by the School to look into their problems while attending the contact classes, admissions and examinations. These students are taken care of by providing facilities exclusively for them. Scribes are arranged for them in advance for writing the examinations. The School is also planning to provide free education to such students very soon. 

Apprentice Programme: The students of B.LISc and M.LiSc students are provided apprentice training programme in the nearby Professional Colleges and the University Library to enhance their skills and make them confident of their Knowledge. These students are given Certificates of Appreciation on completion of this training programme and this would help them to have edge over other students. This is only the Institution which has started this initiative. 

Distance Education Alumni: Apart from University departments, the School recently started the Distance Education Alumni for the ODL students to come together and share their views for the development of the Institution. Our website provides them the opportunity to get registered without any fee and efforts are being made to conduct exclusive meeting of such students. 

Coaching Centre for Competitive Exams: The students of ODL have the opportunity to get coaching for competitive exams through the centre established by the University. The School provides its support through audio, video and radio lessons and collaborates with this centre in conducting various programmes.

Social Events: Some of the eminent personality’s birth anniversary days are celebrated by the School to inspire the students with their history, achievements and contribution to the nation and spread their messages of their integrity. The leaders include social reformers and freedom fighters like Dr.B.R.Ambedkar, Jyothi Rao Pule, Savithri Bai Pule, Saakali Ailamma, Komram Bheem, P.V.Narasimha Rao etc.
